During the interwar period, as the forestry office actively developed its activities, people related to forests and the forest industry moved to Kazlų Rūda from various regions of Lithuania. The same thing happened with the Tumosai family.

Kazlų Rūda railway station is the oldest surviving building in Kazlų Rūda. The station was built in 1861 within 2 km from the former village of Kazlų Rūda, near the Lentvaris-Virbalis railway.

The castle is the former seat of the county (locality) elder (Königliches Landratsamt in German), built in 1897 in the neo-Gothic style. Gothic and red bricks were typical features of public buildings built during that period. Schools, other public institutions had common, characteristic features and formed the visual basis of the architectural landscape of Prussian cities.

The Victorious Cross and St. Vojtech Church (now the church of the Holly Cross) on Zamkowa Street is a Catholic church consecrated in 1862.

The history of our town’s mill began in 1804, i.e. more than 200 years ago. Such a date is specified in the sale documents of the plot of land on which the mill was built.

This house could have been built around 1932-1937, when the young, newly married family of Benjamin Gudaitis and Magdelena Štrimaitytė-Gudaitienė moved here from Agurkiškė.

Although the bookstore is no longer there, it is alive in people’s mind and brings back many beautiful memories and is considered one of the most memorable wooden buildings in the town of Kazlų Rūda.

In 1910-1911, the old Vilkaviškis railway station building was brought in parts from Vilkaviškis and thus became the first two-year school in Kazlų Rūda. Its address at that time was Stoties st. No. 1 (current Vincento Borisevičiaus street).

Siejnik (formerly Elisenhöhe) is a rural farm, now a suburb of Olecko, located on the right side of the Olecko-Luk road. An avenue of linden trees planted almost 15 years ago leads to it.

The stone rotunda is a monument to the victims of the World War I in Marggrabowa (now Olecko) county, built in 1925-1927. On July 19, 1925, the first foundation stone was laid, and in 1927 on September 11, the construction of this second largest monument (20 m wide and 10 m high) was finally completed.
